The C Box style for the King Size models is rather unique when comparing to other Matchbox box styles of the same era. But even though they are quite different,
they are still a bit similar to RW, MP and AP C style boxes.
The first similarity is the "MATCHBOX" SERIES in oblong which is identical to other model types. The scroll, however, has been revisited and is in yellow and red
instead of the typical Black and Yellow scroll found on other C types. There is no blue rectangles as it is for AP and MP, but the series is clearly indicated. "KING" and
"SIZE" and in whiet on a black stripe, on each side of an illustration of the model in white, yellow or red/orange. There is still the line draw all around the box.
The model number is indicated on each bottom part of the box, right below the black "KING SIZE" stripe. The model is indicated by a No inside a "cloud".
Above the black stripe is the famous crown, that can be found on each upper side. It is generally known that the C box is called the "Crown box".
Similar to other series, Sub-types for King Size C boxes depend on the end flaps. There is only two patterns knows to exist: the model number, with the model name
under it, is indicated with the "N°" or "K-" prefix. However, "N-" end flap is yet to be confirmed for K4-7.
The top is blue and botton is always black.
There is no variations known to exist due to different drawings. So the list of different boxes is rather short.
SUB TYPES
The 2 sub-types, known as C1 and C2, are easily recognizable by their end flaps.
C1
The end flap is plain blue, with N° and model number. The model name is under it.
C2
The end flap is plain blue, with K- or N- and model number. The model name is under it.
