WHERE DOES THE MATCHBOX COME FROM?
The most common theory is that the design of the first version of the box was inspired by an actual matchbox from Czech Republic.
The “NORVIC” matches came in a box that looks a lot like the A type box in which the Road Roller (1A) was released for the first time.
The black scroll, the red clouds, the black frame… Everything is in there!
This is by far the most plausible origin of the box as we know it.
