GENERAL INFO
The 73A Refueller was released only in B type boxes even though, in theory, it should have been also released in C type boxes. And it is not too far-fetched to imagine that it could have been even released in a D type box also! It maybe one of those box mystery and there is no clear explanation about it. A bit like 59A, maybe there were still so many B boxes printed that Lesney never bothered having C boxes printed. If we look at 58A, replaced by 58B one month before 73A was replaced by 74B, one can easily think that a D box may have been possible. But none were ever found and most likely never made!
So back to 73A, it was released in B4 and B5 boxes. The B5 has two minor variations: one with the model name on capital letter on end flaps and the other one with regular letters.
The front and back of the boxes had little detail differences: the first release show a small model, numbers are smaller and closer to model. The second has a slightly larger model, and number far from model in a different font. Lastly, the 3rd variation shows the larger model with larger model numbers and a “tall N”, and those numbers are closer to model.
