GENERAL INFO

With ten variations overall, including seven major ones, the boxes for the 60A Morris Pick-up certainly draw a lot of interest for collectors. First of all, it is the last model to be delivered in a size 2 box. This box, a B3 sub-type, shows the model from above, with blank sides (no writing), a light background and very large numbers. It was then replaced by a B4 box with the same kind of drawing, but the whole picture was stretched to fit the size 3 box. Interesting enough, there are two different B4, because of the end flaps. One the first version, the model is called “Morris Omnitruck” while on the second, it’s “Morris J2 Pick up”.

The B5 box would have three different versions, but this time it’s the drawing or the model number that makes the difference. The first version has the usual “view from above” drawing with numbers close to the model, the second would be same but with numbers away from model, and the third one shows a new picture: a side view with writings on the side!

The C box would reuse the late B5 box.

The D boxes, available in D1 and D2 sub-types, show the blue model with red and white letterings, and black wheels.

Except the first variation, which in came in size 2, all other boxes are size 3.

RARITY

The “Omnitruck” version is a bit less common. Difficult to tell if other boxes are harder to find than others.
