GENERAL INFO

The 59A Singer Van was introduced in 1958 in a B3, size 2 box having a different front and back due to the fact that the model is lightly to the left on one side (look at the rear number). The drawing itself shows the red model with yellow wheels and yellow advert on the panel side, with light background. The drawing would be used again for the B4 box as well as the first version of the B5 box only this time, the picture is stretched to fin the size 3 box. A new B5 box will follow, using a very similar drawing but this time the model numbers would be more distant from the model. A final B5 box, which would also be the final box for this model as no C or D boxes were ever produced, shows a different model that has an “S” on the passenger door and no yellow advert on the panel. The model is bigger and there is no background.

RARITY

The late “S” B5 box, and the small B3 box, are less common, although not rare boxes.
