GENERAL INFO

The 56A Trolley Bus has no less than 9 variations, all major ones. Like many models released in 1958, it was first packaged in a blue rectangle box as the drawing was originally made for a size 2 box. It also has a different front and back, with numbers slightly to the right on one side. This variation covers B3 boxes. The drawing shows the model in a ¾ right/front view and has black poles, black wheels, and decal on side. A second blue rectangle box was released in B3 sub-type as well, but this time it shows the model in a left profile view. The numbers are also larger on that variation. The B4 variation shows the ¾ view again and it’s a repeat from the B3 box, but the picture now fits a size 3 box.

Two different B5 boxes were then available the first being a similar box than the B4 one, but with numbers away from the scroll. The second B5 box features a brand-new view of the model, a “view above” that shows the front/right side of the model, with yellow wheels and red poles.

The C boxes also came in two different ways, the first being the old ¾ view and the latest being the view from above drawing.

Finally, D boxes in the two sub-types were also done. The red model also has red poles and Drink Peardax labels, with black wheels.

The nine different boxes were all size 3.

RARITY

C boxes are most probably the less common boxes for this model, but there is no rare box for the 56A Trolley Bus.
