GENERAL INFO

The “DUKW” has interesting boxes, starting with a B2, size 3 box in 1958, for which front and back are different. Like quite a few of the boxes released that year, one side shows the numbers slightly to the right of the picture. The same pattern is also found on a B3 box. The box itself has the blue rectangle, as the picture was made to fit a size 2 box. A second blue rectangle box was made for which front and back are identical. The difference is that it shows very large model numbers and it shows darker lines underneath the model. The B4 released came back with the different sides (one side has its numbers slightly to the right). All of the B2, B3 and B4 boxes show a rear view of a red model.

The B5 model shows a front view of the red model, and the back and front are identical. That same box would be used for C boxes as well.

The D box, very well known for its rarity, was made inD1 sub-type and shows the green model with black wheels.

Each box is made in size 3.

RARITY

Arguably the rarest box of the entire regular wheel range, the 55A D1 box is extremely hard to find and very valuable.
