GENERAL INFO
Part of the Lesney’s “army platoon”, the 54A Saracen Personnel carrier was first released in 1958 in a size 3 B2 box which had different front and back. The right profile view of a red model with yellow wheels and red hubs was shown, one side having numbers slightly more to the right on one side. The blue rectangle can be seen as the picture was made for a size 2 box. This pattern can be found on B2 and B3 boxes.
New boxes, in sub-types B4 and B5, were made and had the same pattern of different sides. The picture is fitted on a size 3 box, so the blue rectangle is no longer there. A final B5 box would be made later, with numbers away from the scroll.
The same illustration as the late B5 box would be used for the C box as well.
The model also came in D1 and D2 boxes, showing a green model with black wheels.
Al boxes are size 3.
RARITY
None of the boxes particularly stands out as rarer, but of course the C box is less common.
