GENERAL INFO
To take over the Hillman Minx, Lesney opted for the Aveling Barford Tractor Shovel, and in August 1962, it first appeared in a D1 NEW MODEL box, showing an all-yellow model and numbers with light serifs. The following box, also a D1, lost its NEW MODEL but show very small numbers with more obvious serifs. The final D2 box has large numbers with serifs, more normal for the usual model numbers for D2 boxes. This D2 box came in three different top/bottom color schemes.
An E3 box came after, this time the model has a red driver.
All boxes were size 4.
RARITY
The NEW MODEL D1 box is a bit harder to come by, but the E3 is probably even less common. None of those should be considered highly desirable, however.
