Appearing for the first time in 1957, the 40A Bedford Tipper came in a small B2, size 2 box, with the “high 4” in the model number, showing the model in red with black wheels and yellow hubs. A dark line is in the background. The next variation is very similar but with a normal “4” in the model’s number. One side is different, having the numbers slightly to the right of the box.
The model moved directly to a B4/B5 variation using a stretched version of the second major variation. There is no “blue rectangle” box for this model.
The model was replaced by 40B before being subject to a C box.
It is reason able to think that the late B4/B5 boxes are a bit less common, but not rare.
