GENERAL INFO

Collecting boxes for the 33A Ford Zodiac is as fun as collecting the model itself, thanks to the seven major variations you can find for this model’s packages.

The model made its debut in 1957 in a B2, size 3 box with blue rectangle. The model is red with yellow wheels and red hubs and the numbers are of regular size. It was replaced with another B2, size 3 box where the model can be seen with yellow wheels and hubs. The numbers are also bigger. This box was also available in B3 sub-type.

There were two sets of B4/B5 variations. The first has the model closer to the left end of scroll and large numbers away from model. The second has the model more centered and smaller numbers closer to model. The end flaps read “Zodiac” between quotes, unlike the first set.

Strangely, the two C boxes have the same patterns of model closer or not to the left end of scroll. But the numbers are of the same size. However, those from the second variation are closer to the model.

Finally, a D1 box was made for the model, showing the orange/silver variation with grey wheels.

RARITY

The D1 box is by far the rarest of the boxes for this model, and over all very scarce among all the D boxes in the RW range.
