In 1966 came a new fire engine, the AMERICANLAFRANCE FIRE PUMPER TRUCK. The 29C was released first in an E1 NEW MODEL box. The NEW MODEL was withdrawn so an E1 without box can also be found (with two different top and bottom color combinations). Then followed an E3 box and two different E4/E4R boxes. In each case, the model shown is the DENVER variation.
The F boxes made use the same major variation which, this time has blank door, so no DENVER there. The “ALP” F2 box came with blank end flap closers as well as “TM/X/X” configuration. The last F2 box, with “LPC” bottom lettering, has the “X/X/MK2” configuration.
E boxes are size 5 while F boxes are size 6.
The F boxes are generally less common. The new model is a bit harder to find, and so is the E3 box.
