GENERAL INFO

The 27C Cadillac Sixty Special has quite a few interesting facts about its boxes. When it was released in July 1960, it came in a New Model B5 box, showing a large drawing of the model, with lines underneath. The same picture was used as the first C box, which also has the New Model on end flaps. But then, a second C box was made, also a “New Model”! The model is a bit more to the left and the right portion is higher. The “N” of the number is larger. A rare feat for any model, 27C received a third C box. This one has the model centered in the picture and numbers away from the scroll, compared to the other C boxes.

The D boxes have also a twist to them, as we see three different variations as well. They all show the purple model and cream roof. The D1 has the numbers sans serifs but the second D1 box has small numbers with serifs. Finally, the D2 has the larger numbers with serifs.

All boxes are size 3.

RARITY

Any of the C boxes are nice to have, although it might be very hard to tell which one is rarer. The B5 box is certainly not that common for this model as well.
