Replacing the 25 Volkswagen, the 25C Bedford Petrol Tanker appeared in May 1964 in a size 5, E1 box bearing the NEW MODEL on end flaps. It features the white target showing the opening of the truck cab to reveal the engine, and the BP variation is shown. The decision was then made to make the box larger, using a size 7, and The NEW MODEL disappeared from the end flaps. A new design was made for the ARAL variation on the size 7 box. It was released first on an E2 box, so the opening cab was illustrated on the end flaps. An E3 box was later made for the ARAL model as well.
The final major variation is back with the BP model variation and was available in E3 and E4 boxes, before the 25D Ford Cortina took over the #25 spot.
Note that all ARAL variations use “TANKWAGEN” instead of “TANKER”
The NEW MODEL E1 box is less common, The E3 ARAL variation is probably the scarcest box for this model.
