GENERAL INFO
1955 saw the debut of the first Bedford Removal Van, 17A. It was packaged first in a B1 size 2 box with numbers high in the picture and “Removals” on the side. The picture is blurred and has a background with trees. A second B1 box, still in size 2, has the numbers centered and the picture is sharper. A third B1 box of same size followed, with this time “MATCHBOX Removals Service” on the side. The numbers are a bit larger.
The fourth major variation shows a smaller model. It still has background but smaller numbers with the large “N” and “MATCHBOX Removals Service” on the side. The last variation has a slightly larger model, but shorter than the first three boxes and the narrow “N”.
Each B2 box is also of size 2.
RARITY
The box with smaller drawing of the model seems to be a little less common for this model.
