GENERAL INFO

The third Fire Engine using the number 9 slot is the Merryweather Marquis Series III. Oddly enough, the first box, a B4 and size 3, uses a stretched picture of the 9B (or 9A?!) model, which is actually a drawing never used before, showing a small model with black wheels and black ladder and ladder wheel. It was available in B4 as well as B5 boxes.

Another set of B4/B5 boxes was then released and this time, the right model was shown. The picture features the red model with red front grille and some trees in the background. A last B5 box was made, this time without any trees and yellow front grille.

The only C box made uses the red grille illustration used in B type.

D boxes, available in both 1 and 2 syb-types, were later issued. They depict a red model and gray wheels, and a gold ladder.

RARITY

The first box is interesting and probably scarcer than following boxes. The B5 box with yellow grille is also a bit less common.
