GENERAL INFO

The second Massey Harris Tractor model appeared in 1957 and used the same last box of its predecessor. A second B1 was later issued, in size 2 instead of size 1. The box is clearer and has short exhaust stacks, and larger numbers. Trees in the background are also smaller. Two different B2 boxes followed, one with small holes in engine and small number, and one with large holes in engine and large “N”.

The first B3 was made available in size 2, and the read wheel hub is larger while the front wheel hub is darker. The same drawing was then used on a size 3 box but size 2 drawing, showing the blue rectangle.

The last box for this model, a B4 size 3, clearly shows the two rear wheels. Furthermore, all the wheels and hubs are yellow, compared with other boxes where wheels were always black.

RARITY

With large variety of boxes for this model, it is hard to identify clearly a rarer box, but the B4 box is certainly less common.
